dB Gold Pro is a lightweight, cost-effective acoustic underlay designed for use beneath floating engineered wood and laminate flooring.
The 5mm folding-panel format is quick to position, easy to cut and suitable for straightforward DIY installation. Each pack contains 20 panels covering 7.2m² and includes an integrated self-adhesive joint strip, so no separate joining tape is required.
Its supportive panel construction helps create a stable base beneath the finished floor, while the gold moisture-resistant facing provides additional protection against everyday moisture. The compact pack can also be shipped by parcel, helping avoid the pallet-delivery charges associated with heavier acoustic flooring products.
dB Gold Pro is designed for use beneath compatible floating floor finishes, including:
The flooring must be installed as a floating system. Always confirm that the selected laminate or engineered wood manufacturer approves the use of a 5mm panel underlay.
Footsteps, furniture movement and dropped objects create impact energy that can pass through the finished flooring and into the structural floor below.
dB Gold Pro forms a resilient layer between the subfloor and the floating floor finish. This helps absorb and reduce impact vibration before it enters the building structure.
The panel format also provides a stable base beneath laminate and engineered timber flooring, helping support the floor joints during normal domestic use.
dB Gold Pro is supplied as folding acoustic panels with a gold moisture-resistant facing. The panels unfold across the subfloor and connect using the built-in foil overlap and self-adhesive joining strip.

The 22dB figure is the impact sound reduction reported in the supplied product specification. The datasheet does not identify the complete test build-up or test standard. Actual installed performance will depend on the subfloor, finished flooring, room construction, perimeter detailing, workmanship and flanking transmission.
Prepare the subfloor correctly, then follow the five illustrated steps to install the underlay beneath compatible floating laminate or engineered wood flooring.
Check the subfloor: it must be dry, clean, level and free from dust, debris and protruding fixings.
Check floor flatness: height variation should be less than 2mm over 2.5 linear metres.
Secure timber floors: hammer down protruding nails and firmly fix loose floorboards.
Control moisture: fit a suitable vapour-tight membrane where rising or residual moisture may be present.

The underlay can easily be trimmed with a suitable knife. Use the printed grid as a reference to help create a straight and accurate cut.
Keep the boards dry before and during installation. Unfold the pack across the subfloor with the gold foil surface facing upwards into the room.

Maintain a 5mm gap around walls, columns, thresholds and other fixed obstructions to allow for expansion and prevent rigid contact at the perimeter.

Lay the next row with its self-adhesive strip positioned beside the foil overlap from the previous row. Peel back the release liner, then press the adhesive strip firmly onto the overlap to seal the joint.

Lay the laminate or engineered wood flooring as a floating system and follow the floor-covering manufacturer’s installation instructions.
dB Gold Pro is aimed at homeowners and DIY installers who want a practical impact-noise underlay without the weight, installation complexity or delivery cost of heavier acoustic flooring systems.
The folding panels are easier to lay than a large, tightly wound roll, while the built-in adhesive joint strip makes it simple to connect each row without buying separate tape.
Each parcel-friendly pack covers 7.2m², making it suitable for bedrooms, home offices, living areas and smaller refurbishment projects where a simple, good-value underlay is required beneath floating laminate or engineered wood.
