What is db Matting?

dB Matting is our high performance and space saving acoustic mat that can be used directly under timber or laminate flooring. dB Matting saves cost, time and floor height while maintaining high level of acoustic performance for both impact and airborne sound.

dB Matting 15 is a high performing acoustic floor product to be used in Residential, Commercial and Industrial projects.  The dB Matting range has been uniquely engineered to reduce both impact and airborne sound when laid over a structure.

dB Matting is unique in as an acoustic matting as it can have a timber or laminate floor finished laid directly onto it without the requirement or a layer of ply or MDF. If the subfloor is level the dB Matting can be laid over the subfloor and the laminate or engineered wood can be laid directly over the rubber matting. This is due to the low deflection rate of the material, meaning there is little compression under a load. The dB Matting 15 as a deflection of just 0.4mm.

dB Matting can also be used under Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) when coupled with the Jumpax dual overlay board.

The acoustic rubber mat ensures high levels of impact sound reduction are met and due to the mass of the products there is also a high level of airborne noise reduction.

dB Matting 15 is very versatile and easy to cut with a sharp long-bladed Trimming Knife.  Score the surface then run through with the knife several times to avoid tearing.

When used in the correct application, dB Matting 15 can be installed over timber, concrete and screed applied floors with lath and plaster, suspended timber/metal ceilings or Resilient Bar ceilings to ensure compliance to all UK Building Regulations.
